New Piece in the Works...

I started a new smaller piece yesterday. I'm a bit fixated with trees at the moment, so I'm putting together another tree. This is the background I laid down. I decided to keep this one simple and try to reduce the background noise of, well, the background. So they aren't vibrantly colored as my backgrounds usually are.

The next step is to pick out stamps for the tree. I'm undecided as to whether the trunk will be green or blue, but I'm leaning towards green because the green stamps I found seem to be a little brighter. I have a little more sorting to do though before I have enough pulled out to do the trunk.

The whole process of sorting would be a lot faster if I wasn't distracted along the way by neat stamp finds that I have to spend a little extra time looking at. Today I found a really cool Antarctica stamp. We have so much stuff from our time in Antarctica that someday we'll do a shadow box or a little corner shrine to all things Antarctic, like my friend Cookie Jon, in the meantime, my husband is in charge of keeping the Antarctic stamp out of the stamp chaos in my studio. One of these days I'll post pictures of our Antarctic stamp collection.

And then I found this little beauty. This is a really big stamp. I think this face might end up as the center of my next flower.

Well that's it for today. Last day of classes for the semester and then I have to get through finals next week but I'll probably post my finished tree piece later this weekend.
